Classic Drawings from 1976

During November 2015 Hettie called the Rooibos Teahouse about drawings she want to give to Clanwilliam.  Hettie was friends with Tony Pritchard,  born on 14th April in 1932 in London. His life in short:

After finishing at secondary school at the age of 16, he went to work at the famous London store, Harrods, as an apprentice display artist. This only lasted about 5 months until the family packed up and emigrated to South Africa.

At the age of 28, Tony rejected the corporate lifestyle and, at great risk, went on his own. Over the years, he built exhibition stands, designed an Anthroposphical  range of wooden toys and kitchen ware. He was an industrial designer, a set designer - building full and model sized aero planes and boats for film and television. His later years were taken up with painting huge 5mx15m backdrops for theme decors in hotels.

He designed and built his own house in Hout Bay, which he reluctantly left with his wife, Joy to retire in the country in 2005 (Ladismith – W Cape). He died on 19 October 2010.

During 1976 Tony made 6 drawings (A3 size) on the Rooibos Process. Rooibos Teahouse received this drawings during December 2015 from Hettie.  Thank you Hettie (and Tony) for this treasure.  The drawings will be framed and then put on display in the Rooibosteahouse.
